Campus Radio Technical Assistant (2 Posts)

POST 20: Campus Radio Technical Assistant (2 posts). Full time. The incumbent will report to the Technical Manager.

Duties and responsibilities

The technical assistants shall assist radio producers and presenters in the following:

• Ensuring that radio broadcasts are consistent, efficient and entertaining.
• Providing creative and technical assistance during radio broadcasts.
• Archiving previous recordings, editing sound and ensuring recording equipment is in full working order.
• Conducting regular inspections and performing routine maintenance.
• Maintaining radio station logs and coordinating with other staff members to ensure that programming is broadcast at scheduled times.
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Maintaining an inventory of spare parts and tools.
• Providing training to media interns.
• Performing software updates and upgrades on radio equipment.
• Monitoring system performance and recommending improvements.

Qualifications and experience

• A National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in telecommunications, radio broadcasting, radio production, media production or media studies.
• A relevant first degree would be an added advantage.
• Two years of experience working for radio is required.
