About the Role
Location: Liberation City, Harare.
The Institute of African Knowledge (INSTAK) is looking for a highly skilled, responsible, mature and experienced Class 1 Driver to manage the Institute's transportation needs — ensuring the safe and efficient transport of staff, dignitaries, delegates and visitors, including schoolchildren on educational tours.
Duties:
- Transport visiting schoolchildren to and from the Institute for educational tours.
- Transport scholars and staff for various Institute activities.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and records of mileage, fuel consumption and maintenance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and transport policies and procedures.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance and report major mechanical issues promptly.
- Ensure the cleanliness and good condition of the Institute's vehicles.

Requirements
- A minimum of 5 Ordinary Level passes is a MUST.
- A valid and clean Class 1 (Code DE) driving licence.
- Valid defensive driving certificate and medical report is a prerequisite.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Class 1 Driver.
- Excellent time management and communication skills; punctual and reliable.
- Significant experience driving for a school or similar environment transporting children is distinct; tour guiding experience is an added advantage.
Attributes: mature and professional (calm under pressure, a role model for students); safety-conscious; patient and friendly; adaptable to flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and occasional weekends.
