UNICEF seeks an independent Electrical/Solar Engineer to provide technical oversight and quality assurance for the supply, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of 5 kVA solar power systems at 20 Civil Registry Department sub-offices.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering or a directly relevant discipline.
• Current registration with a recognised professional engineering body.
• At least five years of progressively responsible professional experience in electrical engineering and off-grid or hybrid solar photovoltaic systems.
• Experience in design review, site assessment, BoQ preparation, equipment inspection, installation supervision, testing, commissioning or certification of solar PV systems.
• Strong knowledge of 5 kVA-class off-grid solar systems, lithium-ion batteries, inverters, PV arrays, cabling, earthing and circuit protection.
• Knowledge of Zimbabwean electrical, occupational safety and solar installation requirements.
• Strong technical report writing and inspection skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Postgraduate or specialist renewable-energy training, recognised solar PV certification and experience with public infrastructure are desirable.
