About the Role
EcoCash is hiring a General Manager – Health to lead the growth and market expansion of the digital health-insurance portfolio (EcoSure Health) through strategic leadership of product innovation, healthcare partnerships, operational excellence and claims governance — ensuring accessible, technology-enabled insurance solutions that support business and financial objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Formulate and execute the overarching commercial, operational and product strategies for EcoSure Health to drive market share, revenue growth and profitability.
- Oversee the development and enhancement of micro-health-insurance products, ensuring alignment with customer needs, mobile delivery models and market trends.
- Direct end-to-end health-insurance operations, including underwriting standards, digital claims-processing workflows and SLAs to ensure rapid, transparent claim settlements.
- Build and maintain high-level relationships with healthcare service providers, hospital networks, emergency rescue services, regulators and distribution partners.

Requirements
Qualifications, skills and experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Insurance or a related field (a Master's/MBA is preferred).
- 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in health insurance, micro-insurance or healthcare operations, with at least 3–5 years in a senior managerial capacity.
- Deep understanding of health-insurance underwriting, claims management and medical-risk frameworks.
- Proven track record in P&L management, strategic decision-making and regulatory engagement.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to engage at all organisational levels and with external stakeholders.
