History Teacher (Maternity Locum)
About the Role
Job Profile: The successful applicant will be required to:
- Be responsible for the preparation and compilation of the subject.
- Set innovative tasks and alternative assessments, tests and examinations.
- Have a clear understanding/interpretation of the learning-area syllabus document and its implementation.
- Have a good knowledge of, and experience in, teaching History from Form 1 to 4.
- Have the ability to work with diverse classes; use computer/technology in teaching.
- Provide academic support to pupils within the department; involve pupils in extension activities that build a love and greater appreciation for the learning area.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings; participate in the normal operational duties of the school; exhibit professional behaviour at all times.
Requirements
- A relevant teaching degree and professional qualification for the required subject.
- Appropriate experience of teaching History up to Form 4 at an institution offering Cambridge International Exams.
- Sound knowledge of the curriculum; sound knowledge of IT skills.
- The ability to work closely and co-operatively with colleagues.
- A proactive, dynamic and motivated approach to education.
- Commitment and passion for teaching History.
- The ability to uphold the ethos and values of the school.
