About the Role
The Laboratory Technician will:
- Perform comprehensive testing of samples using instrumental and classical methods.
- Operate and perform basic maintenance of analytical instruments, including AAS.
- Ensure the integrity and suitability of analytical instruments.
- Prepare calibration standards and ensure traceability to international standards.
- Prepare test reports.
- Confirm the validity and accuracy of test data before reporting.
- Handle hazardous substances, including receipt, storage, use and disposal.
- Identify and report in-process non-conformities and deviations.
- Monitor subordinate performance and discipline.
- Implement ISO Standards and Laboratory Information Management System policies and procedures.
- Conduct equipment calibration and/or qualification to guarantee traceable measurements.
Requirements
- Experience: minimum 5 years' relevant experience.
- National Diploma in Metallurgical Assaying.
- Certification in ISO 17025 will be an added advantage.
