About the Role
The Public Service Commission is hiring a Manager, Applications Development and Innovations to drive innovation initiatives and software development within the organisation.
Requirements
Requirements & qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science or a comparable field (software-development certifications are a valuable asset).
- Proven experience in innovation and software development, with a minimum of four years in a managerial or lead capacity.
- Advanced proficiency in development frameworks and technologies including Java, PHP, Python, ASP.NET, C#, Hibernate, Spring/Spring Boot, Laravel, Node.js, Ajax, Flutter, Django and Flask.
- Comprehensive understanding of software-development principles, the SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Advanced SQL and experience with database design, data modelling and query optimisation in RDBMS (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server) and NoSQL databases.
- Version control (GitHub); software-testing procedures and tools; containerisation (Docker, AWS Fargate, Google Kubernetes Engine).
- Knowledge of emerging and disruptive technologies; strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
