About the Role
Education
- National Certificate, Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in Millwrighting, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related trade.
- Sound knowledge of industrial mechanics, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, drawings, schematics and maintenance procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience in an industrial plant, manufacturing, mining, recycling, waste-processing or heavy-engineering maintenance environment.
- Hands-on experience maintaining conveyors, screens, trommels, shredders, balers, compactors, pumps, motors, gearboxes and related material-handling equipment is preferred.
- Experience with PLCs, variable-frequency drives, welding, fabrication and precision alignment will be an added advantage.
Certifications
- Millwright Class 1 Journeyman Card or an equivalent recognised trade qualification is required. Relevant electrical authorisation, welding certification or a valid Class 4 Driver's Licence will be an added advantage.
Skills
- Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, fitting, alignment and industrial maintenance skills.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings, use diagnostic and precision measuring instruments, and apply safe isolation procedures.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, respond to breakdowns under pressure, communicate clearly, maintain accurate records and work shifts or standby when required.
