Recoveries Officer

ProsperityLink Microfinance is looking for a dedicated and results-driven Recoveries Officer to join our team. This role is key to ensuring the recovery of overdue loans and maintaining a healthy loan portfolio in line with microfinance best practice and regulatory requirements in Zimbabwe.

Key roles and responsibilities

• Follow up on overdue loans and ensure timely recovery of outstanding amounts.
• Contact and engage clients through calls, visits and written communication.
• Negotiate repayment plans and explore restructuring options where appropriate.
• Handle litigation on defaulted accounts.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date recovery records and client files.
• Work closely with the Credit, Accounts and Branch teams to monitor portfolio at risk and reduce arrears.
• Prepare regular reports on recovery performance and submit to management.
• Ensure compliance with microfinance regulations, the Credit Reference Bureau and internal policies.
• Handle client concerns professionally and maintain positive relationships.

Minimum qualifications

• A Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).

Experience and skills

• At least 1 year of experience in recoveries, credit control or a similar role (microfinance experience is an added advantage).
• Experience in handling litigation cases and legal recovery processes.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Good computer literacy (MS Office).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
• Integrity, professionalism and a customer-focused attitude.
