About the Role
Reports To: The Chief Servant.
Core Job Purpose
To provide overall administrative and academic leadership to our Junior school. The Substantive Head is responsible for fostering an environment conducive to holistic child development, optimising learning outcomes and upholding the SDA values and ethos.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Academic Leadership: oversee the total implementation and supervision of the primary-school curriculum.
- Personnel Management: supervise, mentor, appraise and manage the discipline of teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Resource Optimisation: manage school programmes, projects, infrastructure and assets.
- Policy Compliance: ensure strict compliance with national educational statutes, circulars and institutional policies.
- Stakeholder Relations: partner with the School Development Committee (SDC), parents and community structures.
Key Competencies:
- Deep comprehension of Education sector regulations and the Education Act.
- Distinct knowledge of the Heritage-based and Cambridge curricula.
- High level of financial literacy and school-budgeting expertise.
- Exceptional spoken and written communication abilities.
- Computer literacy and digital proficiency.
- Thorough appreciation of the Adventist philosophy of Education.

- Academic: valid Teaching Diploma or Certificate in Primary Education from a recognised institution.
- Degree: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or an equivalent relevant university degree.
- Postgraduate: a Master's Degree in Educational Management or Administration is a distinct advantage.
- Experience: minimum of two (2) years' experience in a substantive Deputy Head position.
