About the Role
Job purpose
The Accounts Clerk will provide efficient and accurate accounting and financial administrative support to the Agricultural Marketing Authority — processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with approved financial procedures, policies and statutory requirements at Head Office.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Preparation of invoices and receipts for clients.
- Capturing transactions into the accounting system.
- Online system approval of licences.
- Preparation of bank reconciliation statements and cashbook.
- Petty cash management.
- Processing of payments and statutory obligations.
- Preparation of financial statements.
- Filing of all accounting records.
- Preparation of budgets and cash-flow forecasts.
- Inventory checks, stock taking and overall stock control.
Requirements
- A Degree/Higher Diploma in Accounting or a related field.
- 5 O-Levels including Mathematics and English.
- At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), as applicable.
- Class 4 driver's licence.
- Working knowledge of the agricultural sector is a prerequisite.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A result-oriented, innovative and analytical approach.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
