About the Role
Unki Mines (Private) Limited invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced people to fill the following vacancy, which has arisen in the Engineering Department. A member of Valterra Platinum Ltd Group.
Purpose of the Job: The role is responsible for the maintenance, installation and commissioning of mechanical plant and equipment to the required standard in your area of responsibility.
Major Outputs:
- Safe achievement of maintenance tasks to support production performance.
- Ensuring that the work area is maintained to the required housekeeping standards.
- Ensuring all safety devices are operational and in use.
- Conducting and participating in Risk assessments.
- Attending to breakdowns and inspections as required.
- Checklists and inspections are up to date and accurate.
- Assessment of employee competency as required.
- Maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Ensuring that materials, spares and equipment are available as required.
- Completing job cards and description of work and spares used (PM's).
- Taking responsibility for the proper discipline of any subordinates.
- Reporting any contraventions of the Mining (Management and Safety) Regulations, codes of practice, instructions, permissions, exemptions etc.
- Exercising judgment with regards to replacement of components.
- Applying appropriate tools to complete tasks.
- Reporting timely and accurate information.
- Supporting, coaching and participating in the training and development of subordinates and apprentices.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- 5 O'Levels subjects including Mathematics, English and Science.
- Trained and Certified Competent as Class 2 Boilermaker.
- A minimum of 2 years experience.
- Must be familiar with SHEQ Systems.
