About the Role
A General Manager – Cloud Platforms to drive innovation and shape the future of connectivity in Zimbabwe.
The role leads the strategy, implementation and operation of Econet's Private/Hybrid Cloud platform to improve efficiency, resilience and agility across Econet Wireless, EcoCash and Group businesses, while subsequently commercialising the platform through Enterprise Cloud services with accountability for revenue and profitability.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline; a relevant postgraduate/MBA qualification is desirable.
- Google Professional Cloud Architect/Engineer certification preferred; Google Distributed Cloud/Anthos certification highly desirable; CKA, TOGAF, PMP or equivalent an advantage.
- Proven experience defining Private Cloud strategy, business case, target architecture and implementation roadmap.
- Proven track record leading end-to-end implementation of a large-scale Private/Hybrid Cloud platform (VMware VCF/Tanzu, OpenShift, OpenStack, Nutanix, Google Distributed Cloud or equivalent), through workload migration and production operations.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes, networking, storage, IAM, cybersecurity, automation and disaster recovery.
- Experience supporting telecoms, banking, financial services, government or other mission-critical environments; experience building Enterprise/Managed Cloud Services with commercial accountability; experience with hyperscalers and leading systems integrators.
