About the Role
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a Web Development Graduate Trainee post in the ICT Department.
Duties:
- Assist in the development, enhancement and maintenance of the university's official website and related web applications.
- Work with departments to publish, edit and maintain accurate content, including news, announcements, academic programmes, events and staff information.
- Troubleshoot website issues, resolve bugs, monitor performance and provide first-line technical support for university web services.
- Participate in designing, coding, testing and deploying new website features and integrations while ensuring cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
- Assist in implementing web security measures, performing backups, monitoring vulnerabilities and adhering to web standards, accessibility guidelines and SEO best practices.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, ICT or a related field.
- Graduated within the last 2 years.
- Minimum degree class: 2.1.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and web development principles.
Skills: Knowledge of front-end frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue.js; basic understanding of back-end technologies (PHP, Node.js, Python or Java); familiarity with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB); understanding of Git/GitHub version control; ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
