About the Role
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Technology Development
- Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with the School's educational and operational goals.
- Lead and manage technology projects, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify and implement innovative technology solutions that enhance teaching, learning and administrative efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team on technology planning and digital-transformation initiatives.
Infrastructure and Network Management
- Ensure the reliability, performance and security of the School's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, servers, networks, data storage and solar-related technology.
- Plan, manage and implement upgrades to network, server and end-user systems.
- Monitor system performance and ensure business continuity through effective backup and recovery.
Educational Technology and User Support
- Support and enhance the School's educational technology platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Management Information Systems (MIS).
- Oversee the provision of IT support services to staff and pupils.
- Provide guidance and online support to parents using School management systems.
- Coordinate training programmes for staff to maximise effective use of technology.
Budgeting, Procurement and Resource Management
- Manage the School's IT budget.
- Plan and prioritise future technology investments in line with strategic and financial objectives.
- Oversee the procurement of hardware, software and technology services.
Cybersecurity, Compliance and Risk Management
- Develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures that ensure the security and integrity of IT systems and data.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection, privacy and cybersecurity regulations.
- Proactively identify and mitigate technology-related risks.
Vendor and Service Provider Management
- Manage relationships with external service providers and technology vendors.
- Ensure the quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of outsourced services and support contracts.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Information and Communication Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years' experience in IT management, preferably within an educational environment.
- Strong leadership, organisational and project-management skills.
- Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure, network administration, systems management and cybersecurity best practices.
- A sound understanding of data protection and privacy requirements relevant to educational institutions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills.
