About the Role

Grade: D3. Reports to: Chief Director. Department: Information Communication Technology (ICT). Station: Head Office, Harare.

Duties and responsibilities
1. Recommend the formulation and/or review of ICT policies, programmes and procedures in line with current trends and national development priorities and imperatives.
2. Provide astute data management service for the Commission through professional backup plans and disaster recovery service so as to enhance business continuity controls.
3. Conduct research on solutions to emerging ICT systems security threats and keep the Department abreast with new trends in Information and Communication Technology.
4. Schedule upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems.
5. Co-ordinate general ICT training and ICT security and etiquette training of all ICT users.
6. Implement robust physical and logical controls, that is: creation and maintenance of user accounts, data encryption, profiling, strong passwords, CCTVs and biometric solutions, among others.
7. Coordinate routine maintenance and servicing activities for the Commission's ICT networks, hardware and software.
8. Collaborate with relevant Government Line Ministries, Departments, Agencies and other stakeholders in the development of an effective information communication technology system for the Commission.
9. Contribute to the development of budgets and funding strategies for information communication technology development in activities and programmes within the Commission.
10. Provide technical input into the procurement of tools, equipment, materials and services for information communication technology development in activities and programmes.

Requirements

Qualifications, experience and attributes
- A degree in any of the following areas: Computer Engineering; Network Engineering; Computer Science; Information Technology; or Information Systems.
- Possession of a Master's degree in the above-mentioned fields would be an added advantage.
- A minimum of five (5) years' relevant professional experience in ICT.
- Experiential knowledge or an appreciation of SAP.
- Strategically integrating AI tools and machine learning systems into the ZMC ICT infrastructure.
