Project Coordinator, Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme (NO-B, Harare)

UNESCO is inviting applications from qualified Zimbabwean nationals for the position of Project Coordinator, based in Harare.

The successful candidate will support the implementation of UNESCO's Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme (IHP), particularly activities under the Adaptation Fund project focused on strengthening climate resilience through sustainable groundwater utilisation in Zimbabwe.

Grade: NO-B. Contract type: project appointment. Contract duration: 1 year. Annual starting salary: approximately US$50,857. Eligibility: Zimbabwean nationals only. Work format: duty station-based. Closing date: 29 October 2026 (midnight Paris time).

Required qualifications and experience

Education

• An advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Natural Sciences, Climate-related Studies, Disaster Risk Reduction, Hydrology, Earth Sciences or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in project implementation in natural sciences or related fields.
• Relevant international-level experience.
• Experience in programme management, advocacy, resource mobilisation and partnership development.
