Provincial Human Rights Officer – Administrative Justice (Hwange & Chinhoyi)
About the Role
Job purpose
To receive and action administrative justice cases at the provincial level.
Duties and responsibilities
a. Interview complainants, assess admissibility, classify complaints, write legal opinions, and maintain and update case files.
b. Prepare concept notes, interview respondents and witnesses, engage stakeholders, and gather evidence.
c. Analyse legal frameworks and draft findings and recommendations.
d. Draft concept notes, prepare invitations to stakeholders, attend meetings and workshops, compile minutes, and implement activities.
e. Analyse the effectiveness of practices and systems, examine adherence to client service charters, draft reports, and recommend the development and review of client service charters.
f. Delegate work, provide feedback, conduct and review performance appraisals, provide technical guidance on investigations, mentor subordinates, enforce policy adherence, and take disciplinary action when required.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognised institution.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar environment.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good research and report-writing skills.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Excellent investigative skills.
- Possess relevant language proficiency required in a province.
