About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, highly organised, and hands-on Service Foreman to lead our mechanical workshop team. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day workshop operations, supervising qualified mechanics, ensuring high standards of workmanship, and driving smooth job execution from vehicle arrival to final quality sign-off.
Key Responsibilities
- Work Allocation and Supervision: Plan, assign, and supervise daily repair and maintenance jobs across the team of mechanics; guide technicians through complex diagnostic and mechanical challenges.
- Quality Control and Inspections: Inspect repaired vehicles, test drive completed jobs, and certify that all jobs meets strict safety, technical, and operational standards before handover.
- Workshop Workflow and Efficiency: Monitor technician productivity, and maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness throughout the bay area.
- Parts and Requisitions: Review and authorise spare parts requisitions, inspect incoming spares from stores for accuracy, and report any additional work required after initial assessment.
- Operational Reporting: Track job progress, maintain clear record-keeping of daily workshop activities, and submit regular updates to management.

Requirements
- Qualification: Apprentice-trained Motor Mechanic - Class 1 Journeyman status, National Certificate in Motor Mechanics, or equivalent technical trade qualification.
- Licence: Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence (Class 2 is an added advantage).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 - 5 years of supervisory experience (as a Chargehand, Team Lead, or Foreman) in a busy light or heavy vehicle mechanical workshop.
- Technical Knowledge: Proven ability to diagnose and repair both petrol and diesel engines, along with solid knowledge of local automotive standards and parts identification.
