SHEQ Assistant (Northern Region)
About the Role
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace SHEQ inspections, audits and hazard-identification activities.
- Assist with risk assessments, incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with occupational safety, health, environmental and food-safety standards.
- Coordinate SHEQ inductions, toolbox talks, emergency drills and employee-awareness programmes.
- Maintain SHEQ records, permits, registers, statutory documentation and performance reports.
- Support contractor compliance, environmental-management initiatives and internal and external SHEQ audits.
- Compile SHEQ statistics, KPI reports and recommend continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Promote a strong safety culture through employee engagement and compliance monitoring.
Requirements
- OSHEMAC professional qualification is a requirement.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Safety, Health, Environment and Quality role.
- Experience within an FMCG, manufacturing, logistics or distribution environment is an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of Zimbabwean occupational safety and environmental legislation.
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 22000/HACCP is a requirement.
- Strong analytical, report-writing, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to work independently.
