Trainee Firefighters (83 Posts)

Grade 11 (83 posts). Reporting to: Leading Firefighter. Location: Harare Central Fire Station. Department: Chamber Secretary.

Job objective: specialised training in firefighting and rescue operations.

Training focus areas

• Firefighting training.
• Specialised training in protection and rescuing of people, animals and property from fire and other dangers/disasters within and outside Harare.
• Providing emergency medical care within scope of practice.
• Checking and testing specialised firefighting and rescue equipment.
• Proper usage of specialised firefighting and rescue equipment.

Qualifications and experience

• At least 5 G.C.E O-Level subjects at Grade C or better, including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject.
• Between the ages of 18 and 22 years on the last day of the advert.
• No criminal record; vetting will be undertaken.
• Physically and mentally fit.
• A minimum height of 170 cm.
• A clean Class 2 driver's licence is an added advantage.
