About the Role

A well-renowned private Christian school (Primary and Secondary) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Accountant. The successful candidate joins the Accounts Department and supports the School's financial management and administration.

Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records, ledgers and reconciliations; prepare periodic management accounts, financial statements and reports.
- Assist with budgeting, budgetary control and variance analysis; process fees, invoices, payments and statutory returns within deadlines.
- Support internal controls, audit processes and compliance requirements; other duties as assigned.

Requirements

- A first degree in Accounting, Finance or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- A minimum of three (3) years' post-qualification experience in the Education sector (schools or similar institutions) is essential.
- Sound working knowledge of and proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Odoo, Pastel, Belina Payroll or similar ERP/accounting systems) is a must.
- A professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CIS) an added advantage; sound knowledge of Zimbabwean tax and statutory requirements (PAYE, ZIMRA, NSSA) an added advantage.
- Must be of sober habits and good moral character, consistent with the Christian values and ethos of the School.
