About the Role

Unearthing Potential! Call for Investment-Ready Tourism and Hospitality Projects.

Background
The Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) is inviting expressions of interest from Tourism and Hospitality project owners seeking investment and technical or strategic partnerships.

Project Submission Objective
This call seeks to identify investment-ready Tourism and Hospitality projects with strong commercial potential for inclusion in Zimbabwe's tourism investment pipeline. The initiative aims to connect project promoters with local and international investors, facilitate strategic partnerships, and accelerate the development of sustainable, high-quality tourism infrastructure across the country. Selected projects will benefit from enhanced exposure through investment prospectuses, investor roundtables, roadshows, digital platforms, and targeted business-to-business (B2B) engagements designed to attract capital, drive visitor growth, and strengthen Zimbabwe's tourism value chain.

Eligible Projects
Submissions are invited for Tourism and Hospitality projects including, but not limited to:
- Hotel and resort developments (luxury, mid-market, and budget).
- Eco-lodges, safari lodges, and nature-based tourism facilities.
- Conference and convention centres (MICE tourism infrastructure).
- Cultural, heritage, and community-based tourism projects.
- Entertainment and leisure facilities (theme parks, adventure tourism, recreation parks).
- Waterfront and lakeside tourism developments.
- Tourism-related transport services (cruise boats, charter services, tour operations infrastructure).
- Health and wellness tourism facilities (spas, retreats, medical tourism centres).
- Rehabilitation or expansion of existing tourism and hospitality assets.
- Smart tourism solutions and digital platforms enhancing visitor experience.

ZIDA is currently engaging with several international hotel groups that have expressed interest in investment opportunities in Zimbabwe. Tourism Project Promoters and Land Owners are invited to submit their projects for consideration.

The Agency will review submitted projects for suitability for promotion. Submission of an Expression of Interest does not guarantee selection or investment facilitation.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements — projects submitted should ideally meet the following criteria:
- Clearly defined project concept with a compelling investment rationale.
- Availability of pre-feasibility or feasibility studies (where pending, the Agency can provide links to Transaction Advisory Services).
- Secure or clearly defined land ownership, site access rights, or lease agreements.
- Indication of required investment value.
- Clear project implementation plan and development timeline.
- Demonstrated commercial viability and scalability.
- Compliance with tourism standards, environmental regulations, and relevant statutory requirements.

Submission Requirements — project promoters are required to submit:
- Project title and detailed description.
- Project location (including tourism significance of the area).
- Promoter details (company profile and contact information).
- Estimated project cost and investment required.
- Current status of the project (concept, feasibility, development, construction, or operational stage).
- Supporting documentation (feasibility studies, designs, permits, licenses, environmental impact assessments, etc.).
- Target market segments (domestic, regional, international tourists; business, leisure, eco-tourism, etc.).
- Anticipated visitor capacity and projected occupancy/utilisation rates.
- Projected economic impact (employment creation, foreign currency generation, community benefits, etc.).
