Deputy Head

St Augustine's Catholic College, Bulawayo, is hiring a Deputy Head.

Role profile

• Support the Headmaster in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school.
• Inspire, mentor and develop staff while promoting excellence in teaching, learning and assessment.
• Demonstrate outstanding leadership, organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, staff and the wider community.
• Uphold the school's Catholic ethos — the candidate should be a practising Catholic, actively supportive of Catholic values/mission, and ready to lead and participate in Roman Catholic religious activities and contribute to the College's sporting, cultural and co-curricular programmes.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding, child protection, wellbeing and innovative 21st-century educational practices.

Added advantages: experience as a Deputy Head; experience with school-management systems and digital learning platforms; exposure to sporting and cultural programmes in both Cambridge and ZIMSEC schools.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or equivalent (a Master's Degree is an advantage).
• Minimum of 10 years' teaching experience, including 5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in a Cambridge, ATS, ISASA, international or comparable independent school.
• High level of computer literacy and educational-technology skills.
• Near-native proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Knowledge of Cambridge and ZIMSEC and any other internationally recognised curricula.
