About the Role
We are seeking a precise and customer-focused Estimator to join our workshop team. You will be responsible for accurately assessing vehicle damage, generating detailed quotations and acting as the bridge between our clients, insurance assessors and the workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Damage Assessment and Quotations: Inspect accident damage, document through detailed photos, and prepare accurate quotations (parts, materials, and labour).
- Job and System Management: Open and track jobs cleanly in the workshop system; report additional repairs promptly after stripping reveals hidden damage.
- Client and Assessor Liaison: Work directly with insurance adjusters on claims approval and maintain proactive updates with vehicle owners throughout the repair process.
- Quality and Handover: Assist in final quality control checks prior to customer delivery and handover the vehicle; handle inquiries and resolve any client concerns professionally.
- Operational Reporting: Track daily work progress communication updates to management and submit weekly/monthly client.
Requirements
- Qualification: Class 1 Journeyman (Panel Beating, Spray Painting, or Motor Mechanics) or equivalent technical background.
- Licence: Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of local Zimbabwean automotive repair standards, bodyshop workflows, and current parts pricing.
- Skills: Strong analytical eye, cost accuracy, clear communication, and solid computer literacy.
