Financial Controller, Business Performance & Commercial Finance

Reports to: Chief Finance Officer

Job purpose

Drives financial performance optimisation, commercial finance and decision support across the Tower, Power, Property and other Econet InfraCo entities, through financial analysis, forecasting, pricing, project profitability assessment and business-performance reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, quarterly rolling forecasts and monthly/quarterly cash-flow forecasting at project and company level.
• Produce monthly variance analysis (actual vs budget vs forecast vs prior year) with commentary within group timelines.
• Own the monthly KPI dashboard and the metrics-to-P&L register, ensuring operational KPIs reconcile to the P&L across all pillars.
• Own board and executive performance reporting (variance narrative, forecast and dashboards), assembled with the Reporting & Control team.
• Lead pricing and commercial finance, including deal structuring, contract economics and pricing gatekeeping.
• Analyse project profitability (margin, ROI and actual vs budgeted economics) and build financial models for infrastructure projects and investment appraisal.
• Perform revenue assurance across entities (tenancy ratios, MLA fees, SLA penalties and co-location recovery).
• Lead and develop the business-performance team.

Qualifications, skills and experience

• Degree in Accounting.
• Chartered Accountant (CA), ACCA or CIMA designation desirable.
• Minimum 5 to 7 years' experience in management accounting, FP&A or commercial finance.
• Minimum 3 years' experience at a senior management level.
• Proven budgeting, forecasting and financial-modelling experience, with pricing and deal-structuring exposure.
• Experience in the infrastructure, energy or telecommunications sector and/or a listed-entity environment is an advantage.
