Gender Mainstreaming and Inclusivity Officer
About the Role
Duties and responsibilities
1. Initiate gender mainstreaming and inclusivity policies, strategies and programs in the Commission.
2. Participate in the review of workplace policies and procedures, ensuring inclusivity, and recommend necessary changes.
3. Implement policies and programs that promote the welfare of persons with disabilities in the Commission.
4. Organize capacity building, knowledge building and management of gender mainstreaming and inclusivity workshops.
5. Conduct research on best practices that increase diversity among the workforce.
6. Collaboration with stakeholders on gender mainstreaming and inclusivity.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or HND in Sociology, Gender Studies or a Social Science degree with a bias in gender mainstreaming or equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience in gender advocacy and inclusivity programs.
- Excellent facilitation and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with Government, civil society, development partners or regulatory institutions is an added advantage.
- At least two (2) years' relevant professional experience in gender mainstreaming, gender inclusivity programming advocacy or related field.
- Ability to employ information communication technology in the design, deployment and monitoring of gender mainstreaming and inclusivity programmes and projects.
