Group Business Development Manager
About the Role
The successful candidate will lead the Group's business growth agenda by identifying, evaluating and implementing new commercial opportunities across existing and emerging markets, focusing on revenue diversification, strategic partnerships, market expansion and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Group's business development strategy.
- Identify, evaluate and commercialise new business opportunities, products and services.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis.
- Develop innovative business models and strategic initiatives.
- Identify, negotiate and manage strategic partnerships, joint ventures and collaborative agreements.
- Build and maintain relationships with Government agencies, regulatory bodies, development partners and investors.
- Lead negotiations for commercial agreements, MoUs and SLAs.
- Represent the Group at industry conferences, investment forums and exhibitions.
- Prepare business cases, feasibility studies, investment proposals and strategic reports.
- Drive innovation across business units.
- Monitor business-development projects against objectives, budgets, timelines and targets.
- Provide leadership, coaching and performance management to the Business Development team.
Requirements
- A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Studies, Project Management, Information Systems, Computer Science or another relevant discipline.
- An MBA, MSc in Finance or Strategy, or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
- Professional certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) or Corporate Finance is an added advantage.
Experience
- A minimum of five (5) years' senior management experience in business development, corporate strategy or commercial management.
- Demonstrated success in identifying and commercialising new business opportunities.
- Proven experience establishing strategic partnerships and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Experience within education, healthcare, pharmaceutical or corporate sectors is an added advantage.
