Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor: Religious Studies, Old Testament (1 Post)

The Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following academic post. Full time.

POST 15: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Professor/Associate Professor (1 post), Faculty of Arts, Culture and Heritage Studies, Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy (a major in Old Testament): Harare/Chitungwiza Regional Campus.

Main responsibilities

• Developing and launching new degree programmes.
• Developing open and distance electronic learning and teaching materials.
• Tutoring.
• Managing technology-enabled teaching.
• Carrying out research and creative work.
• Promoting University-wide initiatives.
• Establishing partnerships with industry and local communities.
• Fostering Education 5.0 through innovation and industrialisation.
• Engaging in community service.
• Interfacing with other faculties.
• Carrying out any other duties as assigned by the Dean and/or Regional Director.

Qualifications and experience

• A minimum of a Master of Arts in Religious Studies (Old Testament major).
• A first degree in Religious Studies is a must.
• A PhD in the areas stated above is an added advantage.
• Ability to teach Biblical Hebrew is a requirement.
• A minimum of two (2) years' teaching experience in an institution of higher learning is a requirement.
• Knowledge of technology-enabled open and distance teaching is an added advantage.
