Procurement Officer

We are a leading steel merchant seeking a suitable applicant for the Procurement Officer vacancy. The successful candidate will be responsible for buying goods, materials and services for the company while keeping costs low and quality high.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing, negotiation, contract management and supplier-relationship management — including control, consolidation and cost savings — for the optimisation of purchasing operations and driving business value.

• A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or a related field.
• Two to three years of relevant purchasing experience and strong negotiation skills are an added advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in computer applications (e.g. MS Office, procurement systems).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
