Public Relations and Communication Specialist

Unit: Administration. Location: CEIRD, Harare. The Public Relations and Communication Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that promote a positive institutional image and ensure effective information flow to internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication strategies aligned with institutional goals.
• Identify target audiences and tailor communication approaches.
• Create, edit and disseminate content for internal and external communication channels.
• Manage media relations and maintain relationships with journalists and media houses.
• Coordinate press releases, campaigns and stakeholder communication initiatives.
• Organise press conferences, workshops, seminars and public engagements.
• Monitor media coverage, social-media platforms and public sentiment.
• Evaluate communication effectiveness and prepare reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Media, Mass Communication, Public Relations or equivalent.
• At least three years of relevant experience in Public Relations, Corporate Communications or Media Relations.
• Exceptional writing, editing and public-speaking abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder-engagement skills.
• Good planning, coordination and event-management skills.
• Ability to monitor, analyse and report on communication impact and media coverage.
• Proficiency in digital communication tools and Microsoft Office.
