Registration and Compliance Officer
About the Role
Duties and responsibilities
1. Review applications to verify statutory, legal and operational compliance prior to registration and accreditation approval.
2. Monitor media operations to ensure adherence to registration obligations, statutory requirements and relevant media legislation.
3. Track statutory levy payments, process renewals, and issue official compliance certificates for registered media services.
4. Conduct compliance audits and compliance monitoring inspections for new and existing media organizations.
5. Maintain comprehensive compliance registers for all registered entities and accredited practitioners, including regulatory correspondences.
6. Draft formal compliance notices, queries and advisory letters for non-compliant media entities under supervisory direction.
7. Compile regular reports on compliance with statutory requirements.
8. Support public awareness campaigns and outreach initiatives directed by the Registrar to enhance regulatory compliance among media entities.
9. Respond to stakeholder inquiries regarding registration and compliance requirements.
Requirements
1. A Degree or HND in Media Studies, Mass Communication, Law (LLB), Public Administration, or an equivalent qualification.
2. Strong knowledge of the Zimbabwean media sector, media law, constitutional frameworks and administrative compliance procedures.
3. Excellent computer literacy, proficient data entry skills and strong report-writing capabilities.
4. Ability to keep abreast of emerging technologies and digital solutions for secure compliance tracking and monitoring.
5. At least two (2) years' relevant experience in registration, licensing, regulatory compliance, database administration, or records and information management.
