Assistant Accountant

We are hiring: Assistant Accountant.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain financial records and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare monthly audit files, accruals, provisions and financial reports.
• Prepare statutory tax returns, including VAT, Income Tax and Withholding Tax.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee stock reconciliations and inventory controls.
• Assist with management accounts, budgets, cash flow forecasts and investment appraisals.
• Monitor business unit performance through cost, revenue and plant utilisation reports.
• Address internal audit findings and monitor compliance with internal controls, SHEQ standards and risk management procedures.
• Administer and reconcile petty cash.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years' relevant experience.
• ACCA, CIMA, CIS or an equivalent professional qualification, or progress towards one, is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• High integrity and attention to detail.
