About the Role
Job description
- Track changes in banking, microfinance and exchange-control laws; assess the impact of new regulations.
- Prepare and submit regulatory returns to RBZ, FIU and other bodies; meet all reporting deadlines.
- Develop and review compliance policies and procedures; conduct compliance-monitoring reviews across business units.
- Test controls and document findings; investigate compliance breaches; handle and escalate customer complaints.
- Maintain compliance registers, breach logs and risk assessments; track remediation to completion.
- Deliver staff training; review new products/processes for compliance; prepare compliance reports.
- Support regulatory inspections, examinations and audits; prepare evidence packs and responses for regulators.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Banking or a compliance-related degree.
- A compliance certification (e.g. ICA, CAMS or equivalent) is an advantage.
- 2 to 4 years in compliance or a regulatory role.
- Experience in banking, microfinance or another regulated entity; knowledge of RBZ guidelines.
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills; high attention to detail, integrity and confidentiality.
Remuneration: negotiable, discussed with the successful candidate.
