About the Role

Reporting functionally to the Board Audit & Risk Committee and administratively to the CEO, the Risk Officer will develop, implement and maintain the institution's enterprise risk-management (ERM) framework and compliance monitoring.

Key responsibilities
- Identify, measure, monitor and mitigate operational, credit, market, strategic and compliance risks.
- Monitor loan portfolio quality and non-performing loans (NPLs); enforce credit-risk policies.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with AML, CTF and financial-sector regulations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance reviews; prepare risk reports for executive management and the Board.
- Maintain the corporate risk register and facilitate institution-wide risk-awareness training.

Requirements

Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Banking or Business Studies.
- Professional certification in Risk Management or Compliance (FRM, CRM) an added advantage.
- 3–5 years' relevant experience in credit assessment or risk management within microfinance or banking.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and audit/investigative skills.
