About the Role
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process and record all financial transactions accurately and promptly.
- Prepare, verify and process payments to suppliers, service providers and policyholders.
- Receive and record premium collections and other income.
- Prepare bank deposits and perform daily bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile customer, supplier and general-ledger accounts.
- Process invoices and ensure supporting documentation is complete.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Process journal entries and update accounting records.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Assist in claims payment processing and reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist during internal and external audits.
- Prepare statutory payment schedules and supporting documents.
Requirements
- A professional accounting qualification (or progress towards one) such as CIS, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, insurance accounting, bank reconciliations, AP/AR and statutory compliance.
- Microsoft Excel and accounting-software proficiency; strong data-entry accuracy.
