About the Role
Job Purpose
The Projects/Business and Advisory Manager leads the planning, development, implementation, coordination and monitoring of agricultural projects and advisory services that enhance productivity, market access, value addition and competitiveness across agricultural value chains. The Manager mobilises resources, provides technical advisory services to stakeholders, manages strategic partnerships and ensures projects are implemented efficiently and achieve intended outcomes in line with AMA's mandate.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate and manage agricultural and agribusiness projects from conception to completion.
- Prepare project proposals, business cases, funding applications, work plans and budgets.
- Provide technical and business advisory services to farmers, agribusinesses, investors and other stakeholders.
- Identify funding opportunities and build strategic partnerships with government, development partners and the private sector.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on project performance, ensuring timely delivery.
- Conduct research and feasibility studies and promote innovation.
- Design and facilitate capacity-building programmes, training workshops and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Manage project finances, ensure compliance with policies, donor requirements and regulations, and oversee project risk management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Economics, Project Management, Rural Development or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent) is an added advantage; banking experience is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience in project management, agricultural development, agribusiness, advisory services or value chain development, with at least 5 years in a supervisory/management role.
- Demonstrated experience developing bankable projects, managing donor- and government-funded projects, resource mobilisation and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation, proposal writing and partnership development is highly desirable.
