Senior Manager Treasury — ZESA

About the Role

On behalf of ZESA Private Limited. The Senior Manager Treasury will provide strategic leadership for the treasury function, ensuring the Company's long-term financial sustainability, optimal capital structure, effective liquidity management and robust financial-risk resilience.

Principal accountabilities
- Formulate and drive the long-term Treasury Strategy, aligned to the Integrated Resource Plan, Corporate Strategy and capital-investment priorities.
- Develop and recommend the capital-structure policy (optimal mix of debt, equity, guarantees and other funding instruments).
- Lead strategic funding initiatives — bond issuances, note programmes, syndicated debt, structured finance, project finance, PPPs and green financing.
- Evaluate and recommend funding structures for major generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure projects.
- Oversee the domestic and international debt portfolio and implement a Medium-Term Debt Management Strategy.
- Manage refinancing risk, liability management, debt restructuring and optimisation of borrowing costs.
- Establish liquidity-optimisation frameworks (cash pooling, cash conservation, contingency funding).
- Monitor compliance with Board-approved risk limits; lead the response to financial risks including climate, cyber and sovereign risk.
- Develop the investment strategy for surplus funds and drive automation of treasury processes and analytics.

Requirements

Minimum requirements
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Commerce or a closely related discipline (mandatory).
- A professional qualification such as CA, CFA, CPA, ACCA or CIMA in good standing (mandatory).
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Financial Risk Manager (FRM) or equivalent (preferred).
- An MBA, MSc in Finance/Treasury/Economics or equivalent (preferred).
- A minimum of 10 years' progressive post-qualification experience in treasury, corporate finance or financial management.
- At least 5 years at senior management level leading treasury, corporate finance, funding or capital-management functions.
- Proven experience raising and managing significant debt facilities and structured financing.
- Experience engaging with development finance institutions, multilateral lenders, commercial banks, export credit agencies and institutional investors.
- Experience in a utility, infrastructure, energy, banking, project finance or PPP environment is an advantage.
