Farm Supervisor

KOPIA Zimbabwe Centre (Korea Partnership for Innovation of Agriculture) is seeking a motivated and responsible Farm Supervisor to support the management of its agricultural research and demonstration fields in Harare.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of farm operations and crop production activities.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Managing and supervising general farm operations and field activities
2. Planning and coordinating crop establishment, cultivation and harvesting
3. Monitoring crop growth and field conditions
4. Managing irrigation, fertiliser application, weeding and pest and disease control activities
5. Supervising farm workers and ensuring that assigned field activities are properly carried out
6. Maintaining farm tools, equipment, inputs and other agricultural materials
7. Keeping basic records of crop production and farm activities
8. Supporting agricultural field trials, demonstrations and other activities conducted by KOPIA Zimbabwe Centre
9. Performing other farm-related duties as assigned

This is a contract position with an initial three-month probationary period. Subject to satisfactory performance, the contract may be extended with revised remuneration.

1. Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Sciences, Crop Science, Agronomy or a related agricultural field is required
2. Good knowledge of crop production and general farm management
3. Ability to supervise and coordinate farm workers and field activities
4. Practical understanding of planting, irrigation, fertilisation, pest and disease management, and harvesting
5. Good organisational and record-keeping skills
6. Ability to work independently and take responsibility for day-to-day farm operations
7. Good communication and teamwork skills
8. Previous practical experience in crop production or farm management will be an advantage
